Just added this to my collection of over cliched, overlong, and overhyped action movies that I've seen. The fact that I didn't care about the characters one bit just tells me this movie focused on the wrong things. A light 2.5 out of 4.

A departure from the standard X-Men format for sure but very enjoyable nontheless. The film neatly takes the franchise into pastures new. The way is open to X-Men "The Next Generation" for sure. Plenty of action, but a sober throughout. Stewart has declared his franchise exit with this film but with cloning technology and CGI who knows...

After battling the decision of seeing this I finally decided to go see it and I went to see the movie and I loved the movie not sure if I would take the entire family due to constant violence and constant swearing brief nude scene as well but I totally loved it action packed and super fun the little girl was as awesome as Logan himself was highly recommend that you go see it

Color me not impressed.

LOGAN, James Mangold's brooding and somber conclusion to Hugh Jackman's signature role, has been hailed as one of the very best superhero films since The Dark Knight, The Avengers, and so forth.
To call LOGAN overpraised is the understatement of the year. Aside from being overly long (sick of this in superhero movies) the film is overly grim and dour for its own good. Granted, there's backstory explaining the dire straits that Wolverine and Professor Xavier find themselves in, it's relentless and even the action feels more obligatory than exciting.
Basically the plot involves just two of the original cast. Wolverine is a burnt out limo driver while Professor X is slowly going crazy It's set in the future and they're in hiding while the XMEN are mostly long dead but memorialized in com...

Mixing Genres: Superhero meets the Western

What do you do with a story line that's getting old and repetitive? One good solution is to experiment with dropping it into a whole different genre. Logan does exactly this, blending the superhero with the western. The film's acknowledgement to George Steven's Shane couldn't be more explicit. James Mangold takes a well worn superhero and refits him for the role of the classic reluctant hero, a staple of the American western. "Logan" is set in a arid, western landscape that's wide open and a perfect setting for the long distance George Miller style chase that structures the film. In place of outlaws, we have a predatory corporation, bristling with well armed mercenaries. These villains are pursuing and trying to destroy the hybridized mutant kids that will clearly be X-men 2.0.

Good movie just no kids

I went to see the movie knowing that I would be dealing with nudity extreme language and violence however I have to say that I personally loved the movie yes Logan is a bad example of a hero but he gets the job done in the end of the story I found it to be amazing to see the action and suspence I loved it the young girl playing his sidekick was amazing to see as well it's a good time at the movies but I don't recommend that you take the family due to constant swearing and brief nude scene constant violence and drinking but if it can take the content of the movie then you should totally go see it you will not regret doing so it is a good escape from the real world for awhile and going to the X world pure fun and enjoyable just as I mentioned before no kids
