Unsettling. The story appeared to be too thin despite the attempt to make it deep. I kinda got the message tho: Sometimes, humans are more inhumane than the non-humans. But overall, I'd rather watch an episode of an HBO drama series than spend an hour and a half with this.

It's impossible to judge Morgan without comparing it to Ex Machina, as both films deal with A.I. and how humans interact with it. But whereas Ex Machina was a gripping, claustrophobic and character-driven masterpiece, Morgan is a dumbed-down slasher masquerading as something deeper. The cast is solid, but the story is predictable (I figured out the so-called twist pretty much immediately) and not that thrilling. There are moments you think something is going to happen, but it never does - a germ of a good idea, though it doesn't deserve all the hate, just most of it.

A boring sci-fi thriller interrupted by occasional moments of unintentional humor. Paul Giamatti has only one scene but it's the best in the movie because it's so over the top. What a cast that pops up in this movie but is wasted anyway.

The light version of "Ex Machina"

Man has always been fascinated by artificial intelligence. Either an attempt is made to create a properly functioning living being, by making use of human remains, such as in "Frankenstein". In most cases a high-tech design containing artificial intelligence is made, as in "Ex Machina" or "Uncanny". In "Closer to God", the cloning of a human being is the central subject. Or as in "Splice", you'll see the manipulation of DNA from different organisms which leads to a reasonable bizarre looking being. Morgan (Anya Taylor-Joy) is the result of synthetic DNA and applying nanotechnology on the neural network of an organism. It's a rapidly developing human-like creature, whose intelligence and physical …
