Sarcastic film that isn't as revolutionary as it thinks it is. It works well mostly because of the charisma of the young cast. I think the film fails at times when it acts too smugly and self-aware and is best when it is taking subtler jabs at religious zeal.

There's a lot more going on beneath the surface of this smart satire on faith. More enjoyable, on a higher level, than I would've expected.

Not as clever as it thinks it is. Fairly predictable. It starts out original and interesting enough but eventually degenerates into your typical teen movie - mean girl dominates throughout but gets her comeuppance in the end. Very stereotypical (religious people hate gays! people who pray are crazy!), it's not as good as you'd think.

A lot better than I would have thought. While it doesn't knock faith, it certainly mocks the more zealous aspects of it. Mixes satire with heart and is even subversive. What seems sweet on the surface has some teeth. Recommended.

I had no idea what this movie was when I rented it I had just seen that it had gotten some good reviews and let me tell you they were deserved. I don't want to give much away for this movie but it was a lot of fun to watch. The young actors in it were well directed and did a good job of acting. I highly recommend renting this movie the net time you are at the video store.
