The Ringer |
The Ringer is surprisingly better then i thought it would be, but not by much. With the farrelly brothers producing this film, i thought it be a film that made fun at mentally challenged people, but it's surprisingly sweet and warmhearted. Johnny Knoxville is likable and Katherine Heigl is charming, but Brian Cox steals the movie and single handedly provides the funniest scenes. I loved the message that this movie sent, but there aren't many laughs. It could have been funnier. |

Johnny Mocksville |
Surprisingly good-natured comedy that just doesn't have enough comic momentum to keep it going; stock romance, sleazeball boyfriend villainy and no criminal charages being pressed against the hero are a little too much to take, but some funny moments arise here and there even though it contains more pratfalls than any 6 Jerry Lewis movies. Final Grade: C+ |

Knoxville doing what he does best, being a jackass |
Johnny Knoxville is great! This movie while not one of his best films ever, is still quite funny in it's own twisted way. Knoxville plays Steve Barker, a man trying to get ahead in his career. The day he is given more responsibility he is told to fire Stavi the cleaning man at his job. Being the type of person he is, he can't bear to fire him, and so instead he offers him a position as a grounds keeper at his apartment complex. When Stavi has an accident that costs him 3 of his fingers, Barker will do anything to get him taken care of...even if it means rigging the special olympics.
Perhaps I'm biased in the respect that I think Johnny Knoxville is awesome in just about everything he has done, so perhaps my review here is one that you should take with a grain of salt. While I found it f... |
