A pretty entertaining twisted cop movie.

A dark crime film without clearly defined good guys and bad guys. The grittiness and gray morality of the film may bother some people, but the film is directed with a kinetic energy that creates tension and thrills. Liotta and Patric have an odd partnership that is unique to watch.

This movie was decent. It was a very dark film that moved at an obscure pace. There are a lot of scenes that are just really twisted an they make the flow of the movie hard to follow. The biggest problem is that because the movie doesn't follow the normal rules of the standard crime / drama that most people have become accustomed to there are a lot of people that wrote this movie off as not being very good. Its good a good plot, but the execution is very different from what people are used to seeing.

This movie was recommended to me by a friend. It was not good but it was ok. Liotta has aged badly and this movie didn't help his career. With a decent plot but little reward, I can not recommend this movie to anyone else.

In the highly overpopulated genre of the cop thriller, Narc is neither the most original or most action packed, but what it does strongly is in the details. Carnahan is obviously influenced by the gritty cop dramas of the 1970s, particularly the likes of Serpico and The French Connection and the result is a believable character study of the men trapped in the grimy world they are trying to bring to justice. It features dialogue that's not exactly high art, but always rings true (even in the unsentimental domestic drama involving Patric and his wife) which combined with the solid ce...
