A completely different film for Danny Boyle, full of whimsical imagination and telling morals, but told through the eyes of a child. It's vividly shot, scored, and edited, as we have come to expect from Boyle, but it's the smart screenplay and exploration of interesting themes without trying to shock that makes this a welcome departure. |

A heart that beats at a techno pace. Morality leaves something to be desired, but the director's vision is stirringly beautiful, from beginning to end-bike race through the field to cleansing water |

I recently heard an interview with Danny Boyle talking about Sunshine. I really enjoyed it and thought I should see the movie. I am not a big fan of Trainspotting, but Sunshine and Millions (one word movie titles, anyone?) seemed like completely different movies. I knew the basic premise of the movie and that a guy I babysat once for a week was dragged kicking and screaming to see it with her grandparents. Basically, the movie didn't tell me anything that I didn't already know, the camerawork was ok, but it seemed like kids wouldn't like it and adults could roll their eyes. This wasn't the director's fault: obviously Danny Boyle is very capable. It was due to poor, boring writing I think. |

Yes... an Ok flick. A bit pretentious. I mean, it pretends to be sweet and moving and touching and all that stuff, but... it doesn't get to me. The acting is pretty average. The idea is good, but bad developed in my opinion. |

Not good and in fact way over rated. I expected more from Boyle. Yes, I understand it is a family movie, but some times I don't understand the British way of thinking...much like they probably don't understand ours. |
