I only watched this because of the famous exploding head scene that isn't 'Scanners'. And let me just say that scene didn't disappoint, the rest of the movie, on the other hand, sadly did.

A gruesome and grimy looking slasher that focuses entirely on the killer. The intent is to show the killer's mental illness, and to a point I guess it does shine the maniac spotlight on him, but all I ever got from his psyche was a troubled past with an abusive mother. The slayings are graphic, disturbing, and sleazy, with very detailed effects work adding to the grossness. I find the whole film to be an empty, but effectively sickening experience. Take that however you like.
