EQUITY tries to be a female driven version of WALL STREET or MARGIN CALL. The gender politics might sound like the script's achilles heel and critics will call it pandering to SJWs. It's actually the most interesting thing about this otherwise dull slog. Anna Gunn and Alysia Reiner are good while newcomer Sarah Megan Thomas looks like she has a bright career ahead of her. Too bad she had to suffer a boring debut.

Boring "Cable Movie"

'Equity' is another recent film concerned with the current state of Wall Street and the shady dealings that go on behind closed doors. Most of these types of films can become convoluted when explaining all the ins-and-outs of Wall Street and banking. 'Equity' manages to make all of the necessary dump of money-handling jargon understandable within the confines of the plot. I was completely able to follow along, despite having no knowledge about the subject matter outside of watching similar films. All of this is done so in a very believable 'real-world' sense. This is how I would imagine these events playing out in reality. The cast is filled with capable actors. The downside to the few strong positives lies in the story/direction.
