A compilation of the franchises' greatest strengths and few of its weaknesses, "Rogue Nation" is a rare fourth sequel that bests all the ones before it.

The IMF team are broken up by the C.I.A. leaving Ethan Hunt hunted and alone in his quest to uncover a secret organisation of ex-secret agents intent on disrupting the world's established order. The latest instalment in the popular franchise attempts to out-Bond Bond as the super-spies pit their wits a dark reflection of the IMF known only as SPEC...I mean, The Syndicate. The first half of the film does suffer somewhat by separating the team, leaving Jeremy Renner and Ving Rhames on the sidelines but this does give Rebecca Ferguson room to strut her stuff as a kind of She-than Hunt and she exhibits the perfect balance of sex appeal and sass. The story has a very similar formula to the previous film and as such does not feel quite as fresh, but there is plenty of well engineered action - …

Rogue Nation does not play rogue

Rogue Nation does not play rogue enough. I expected from the trailers that this MI film, starring the irresistible Tom Cruise as Agent Ethan Hunt might have some fresh stuff to take. No it does not. So the mission is all about getting the money, to kick start their program, but IMF though struggling for existence, by the political pressure, is on the mission to stop The so called Syndicate, lead by Sean Harris. This is all Rogue Nation is about. I know that none of this, is interesting, but we watch MI movies for the Cruise factor, the high tech savvy gadgets and the impossible stunts. Do we get them? yes of course, in …

Mission: Impossible Rogue-Nation (2015) PG-13 The incoming CIA chief (Alec Baldwin) wants to disband the Impossible Mission Force, just when we need Ethan (Tom Cruise) and the gang the most. This film is certainly the best film of the Mission: Impossible series and one of my favorite films of the summer. The movie starts off with a breathtaking stunt and just keeps going from there. There is a motorcycle chase sequence that is one of the best chase scenes I have ever seen. I loved the “bromance” between Cruise’s character, Ethan and Simon Pegg’s Benji, with some great lines flowing. Rebecca Ferguson held her own with Tom Cruise (not easy to do) and makes a number of action sequences believable. Sean Harris makes a great bad guy, and Alec Baldwin is fun as the CIA chief. I …
