The best special f/x was when the spaceship went through the spherical wormhole. But the teseract business was incomprehensible. Matt Damnon had no business being in this movie. And they should have made the saviours an alien race instead of people from the distant future.

Relativ

"Interstellar" by Yojimbo

A starving Earth ravaged by a ruined eco-system sends an expedition into a wormhole to another galaxy to search for a new home for the human race. Interstellar is the kind of film that just doesn't seem to get made any more. A story full of the grand themes of the human race's place in the universe, love and loss and the battle between short term self interest and the greater good all wrapped up in some truly glorious visuals and a stunning score makes for a sheer cinematic symphony. Matthew McConaughey's hugely engaging performance heading a cast of characters you truly care about exasperates once more at the course his career has taken up until this point, and a sense of epic wonderment makes you feel as if you are exploring strange new worlds right alongside them. A cynic could point a...

Interstellar review

"Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here." Matthew McConaughey is Cooper, a father to Murph, who is also a very skilled pilot. Music, cinematography spectacular visual effects, intelligent writing and the brilliant acting of McConaughey has made this lengthy picture enjoyable. It was like a crossbreed of 2001 A Space Odyssey and Inception with touches of Back to the Future II. t's minor misgivings were the pace, lack of detail with the year (would have been nice if the timeline was indicated to show the various time travels and locations of where they exactly they were). It was refreshing to see the director use more emotion than action this time around. His venture into science fiction was definitely successful and maybe he can add more plot and action if he decid...

Fascinating. Absorbing. Breathtaking.

“I'm not afraid of death. I'm an old physicist - I'm afraid of time.”

Magnificent. Fascinating. Absorbing. Breathtaking. Titillating. Mind-blowing.

These are just some of the superlatives that I could think of, after watching this masterpiece. It doesn't happen to me often that a film keeps resonating in my mind and I'm still pondering about it after a while. Not that you have to be puzzled about the mathematical content, because it's better to forget about that part. The theory of relativity is brought up once and a while, they end up somewhere in some fifth dimension and you'll be bombarded with theories about black holes and wormholes till you get dizzy. There were some things not really clear to me, but I restrained myself to find plot holes or doubt the accuracy of some mathem...

I always think I ramble on a bit - so it's nice to get validation. Given the state of home theater set-up, you this is definitely worth a watch, but IMAX - you can't beat that experience.

nice review chris. it was like watching the movie. great detail without giving much away.
I'm in no rush to see this one. by the sounds of it though it must look amazing in the cinema it might be better watched at home in comfort where you can get into it a little more. just seems that kind of movie to me if can without distraction.

The cast really look fantastic.I have mixed feelings about Christopher Nolan directing since I didn't much like that last movie, but I'll probably enjoy watching it regardless of the quality because, just like everyone else, I'm super-nostalgic for Interstellar (I enjoy the new Man of Steel movies for the exact same reason.)  It'll be interesting though to see exactly how the whole thing turns out.

The ending did feel like a letdown - but it didn't break the movie for me. That being said, I did expect a bit more, but I'm glad I saw it in theaters (just wish I had IMAX closer by - that would have been an experience).

I'll see Interstellar, but if reviews are any indicator of quality then it's far from Nolan's best.

I'm even more excited for Birdman, a movie which defiantly refuses to come to any of the cinemas around here.  The reviews are so good and the trailers are so quirky that I can't help but get stoked for it.

I've already seen all the other movies mentioned in the thread.  And they're all really good too, and totally worth seeing on the big screen.  I'd check them all out if you get the chance.
