Die Another Day angers me as a Bond fan in the same way that a Neo-Nazi angers a Holocaust survivor; the mistakes of their predecessors are fully apparent to them, yet they insist on repeating them. It's bad enough that Moonraker and You Only Twice are associated with this franchise, now we have to suffer tsunami surfing? |

The only blot on Pierce Brosnan's 007 record, this is wall-to-wall cheese from the dire sexual innuendo to the ludicrous invisible car. Tripe. |

Bond movies have always embraced weird inventions and villains, but this film takes the plot to goofy extremes, involving an invisible car and an ice castle and turning Bond into a silly cartoon character rather than a suave secrete agent. |

Brosnan went all out on his last Bond film. Probably the most over-the-top, effects heavy entry in the whole series. It goes for big, stylized, and goofy and pulls it off. Though it was still a much weaker effort as a whole. It's become a guilty pleasure to watch. |

The end of the Pierce Brosnan Bond era ended on a low note. The last few were weak, but this was just painful. Miscasting, lame story and an unnecessary Madonna cameo to cap it all off. Good thing they reinvented the series when they did. |

Brosnan's Final Bond Film! |
|
“You see Mr. Bond, you can’t kill my dreams but my dreams can kill you!!”
After a failed mission James Bond (played by Pierce Brosnan) ends up in a North Korean prison camp, where he is beaten and tortured, the prisoner of General Moon who’s avenging his son's death. The movie skips ahead 14 months with the disheveled Bond being released from the camp in exchange for a terrorist Zhao but he is not welcomed back with open arms.
The C.I.A. believes he has cracked and started leaking information and his own commander, M, isn't certain what he could have revealed. As M puts it, "You're no use to anyone now". Determined to find the traitor and bring Zhao back to justice, James is forced to escape in order to find the mole who set him up. This leads to a great scene in which Bond wanders... |
