This is the first film that bothered me. I remember starting to cry because I had terrible anxiety once it was over...but somehow, even now, about 3 years later, I can't get it out of my mind. It's a dark film, and I thought it was interestingly executed with how the "circus" is a representation of the abused child's state of mind...whenever she was happy, it'd show a circus that was happy and normal. When the abuse began, her circus became dark and odd. Very psychological, and not for someone who is sensitive to abuse or incest. |
