Not great, possibly value lost in translation

This movie got me thinking that watching foreign thrillers probably just isn't worth it. Dramas can be great but things like thrillers and horror movies might as well be remade. It wasn't a bad story but I didn't find myself being drawn into the movie and I felt at times as if I were missing something. That and thrillers aren't always that great in English. Overall this movie left me uninterested and unimpressed.

Not really worth the time in my opinion.

Tell No One

Wannabe director Guillaume Canet ultimately succeeds here. I don't like the role he cast himself in. He is trying to do something different than the guy girls are supposed to swoon over, but it doesn't work, because he is too cute. A complex film with a myriad of characters that we care about, I'm glad that this one was a hit after trying to get distribution in the USA for over a year.

Tell Everyone

A French thriller with the good sense to keep the viewer's interest invested; we may not always know what's going on, but it comes clean at the end, and provides vivid characters, top-notch direction and technical credits and believable performances in a dizzying story of murder, betrayal, sacrifice and redemption. Final Grade: B+
