The whole movie was superb..., except the ending. The ending was sort of a let-down. Otherwise, I would've rated it higher. But, it's still well worth the watch.

Though Hitchcock would show more polish later in his career, this case of mistaken identity film is slickly directed and contains the right blend of mystery and suspense to remain a nonstop thrill-ride.

Saboteur

I finally had a chance to see this Alfred Hitchcock film. I was amazed with how timely this film is given our current political climate. The film involves a case of domestic terrorism, and an honorable citizen who is assumed to be guilty with little due process. The framed man is forced to flee, becoming a fugitive until he can track down the real terrorist and prove hos own innoocence.

The film is filled with touches that make every Hitchcock film unique. In this case, our hero hides out in a circus caravan... with the performers of the side show, such as the bearded lady and a pair of siamese twins. There is also the famous climax high atop the Statue of Liberty.

Years later, Hitchcock would make a similar film, "North by Northwest", in which we have another case of mistake...
