A semi interesting biopic that starts of well enough and uses an interesting way to tell its story but the last 3rd is the same thing over and over again. Lenny says bad word gets in trouble over and over again, that is simply not dramatically compelling. The overall movie is not really great by any means but the acting is good and it is shot well. Lenny Bruce may interest some more than other and I was not interested by him that much but other people could easily be.

Lenny Bruce, a good yet sad look at his life.

This movie is about the life of Lenny Bruce. I have been a fan of Lenny Bruce for many years, his stand up comedy was amazing, most people didn't understand his humor and as it changed it became more of an attack on life than a hand out of one liners. Dustin Hoffman did an amazing job as Lenny and he really captured his emotion in this film. It can be a little dry at times, but over all it is a good depiction of how he lived. One thing that I think was unfortunate about this film is that they didn't get into his stranger side as well as they could have. If you like his comedy and you want to know more about him this movie is a start but I would definitely recommend reading some of his books "Lenny Bruce: Let the buyer beware" and "How to talk dirty and influence people" both are quite fun...
