Plot Outline:

An evil king has usurped the throne - while the real king is still just an infant. The Black Fox band knows the key to reclaiming the throne lies in a different key - one that lead to a secret tunnel. When they come across the king's new jester on the road, they initiate a daring plan to replace him with Hawkins - one of the gentlest men in the crew, so he can get close to the king and steal the key. Things are complicated by a crush from the evil king's daughter and a witch with a penchant for poison. -- Chris Kavan

Danny Kaye demonstrates his skill for physical comedy in this slapstick-heavy, but hilarious Medieval comedy. There are too many quotable and memorable scenes in this film to count and Kaye's zany and energetic personality is what makes them succeed.

A decent comedy from Danny Kaye with some truly memorable scenes, particularly the vessell with the pestle and the finger-clicking spell. Not all of it is hilarious but there are plenty of moments to make it fun for all the family.
