The Nerd in Me Will Not Back Down!

It's utterly true the most geek-tastic movie of this summer is bound to be Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and for good reason. From the new trailer, it looks like a cross between a live-action video game and old-school Batman (Pow! Bam!) TV episode. It stars Michael Cera, the most lovable loser of our generation and it's based on a graphic novel.

If that doesn't scream NERD loud and proud, I don't know what else does. There has been plenty of Cera backlash, as fellow blogger Nick refuses to see anything else starring "Juno Boy" anymore. Yes, he plays pretty much the same character from Arrested Development, Superbad, Juno, Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist, Paper Hearts... but at least Scott Pilgrim is pretty much a tailor-suited role for him.

The Nerd in Me also convinced me to see Kick-Ass and since this summer has been pretty lackluster, it has held up pretty well against the competition despite not burning up box office. Hell, there's already a sequel Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall though it's a little early to know if it will come to fruition or not.

I will forever be a Nerd - the same one who obsessed over Lost, who searched for clues to Cloverfield, who become bogged down in the alternate reality game "The Beast" before A.I. Artificial Intelligence came out... I'm saying that I'm pretty happy I'm a nerd as it always gives me something to do.
