New DVD and Blu-Ray Releases to Crave This Week: Deathly Hallows Gets Country Strong

It's wizards vs. everyone else in the this weeks lineup. No doubt that Harry Potter fever will run rampant, but despite the overwhelming presence of the monster franchise, there is more to choose from.
1) Still, it's inevitable that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 will win the week. The first part of J. K. Rowlings last novel might move a bit slow for some tastes, but I personally think it's the best film in the series. It had the most emotional impact at least, and the actors really gave it their all - I can't wait to see how the action-packed second part turns out.
2) If magic just isn't your thing, hopefully you prefer Gwyneth Paltrow's singing voice as Country Strong is also up for grabs. I admit, I've enjoyed Paltrow on Glee (yes, I am admitting I watch it) even if country music isn't my thing (except for The Man in Black of course). This might be a good date movie, depending on music taste.
3) Criterion once again comes through with Claire Denis White Material. Isabelle Huppert plays an entitled woman on an African coffee plantation unwilling to give up her crumbling estate amidst a civil war. It's apparent her sanity crumbles much like her property and it affects her family as much as herself. This isn't any light lifting here - if you like your movies a bit deeper, this is for you and Criterion delivers their extras including interviews, a documentary and booklet for film fans.
4) Pixar fans are getting a double dose of Blu-Ray with the release of The Incredibles and Cars. While I still find Cars to be my least favorite out of the Pixar lot, I absolutely adore The Incredibles. Though I think Wall-E and Up had a better story, The Incredibles will always be my secret favorite.
