Nick's Top Picks of Cheap Blu-Rays to Buy

View Nick's Profile

With Black Friday only a few days away, now is a great time to snatch up some incredible buys on Blu-Rays (I know I have). I've picked the best of cheap Blu-rays so you don't have to sift through them yourself. But if you want to see what else is on the cheap list, check them out at Amazon - Blu-Ray Deals

1. The best blu-ray I found was The Departed. This movie is ranked #21 on the FilmCrave top movie list of all time. Almost everyone seems to like it, and it would be a great blu-ray to have in your collection.

2. The next cheap blu-ray I recommend is Wanted. This is one of my favorite movies from 2008, ranked right behind The Dark Knight. It is action packed and I loved it. And, of course, who wouldn't want to see Angelina Jolie in hi-def blu-ray?

3. This is probably the best fantasy/adventure you can buy cheap on blu-ray. If you don't own the lord of the rings trilogy yet, and don't care about special editions, you can snatch up the blu-ray theatrical releases for really cheap. So check them out. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

4. Next on my list is a fantastic movie what won best picture at the Oscars. Slumdog Millionaire is a great movie and if you don't own it yet, you should for this cheap. Especially since it is blu-ray.

5. Here are a couple more great actions films from the last couple years. V for Vendetta and Valkyrie are both good, and I couldn't decide which one to pick, so I'm listing both. I personally like Valkyrie better, but I know not everyone liked that movie. It is a serious movie, and that may be part of it. But I still recommend it.

6. I know, I probably now need a comedy. One of the best comedies ever, Office Space, is great buy. It may have came out a decade ago, but it ranks as maybe my favorite comedy ever, right with Super Troopers and the Big Lebowski. I don't yet have this one on blu-ray, but I think I might now...

7. As for horror, I recommend The Mist. It kept me on the edge of my seat. And unlike most horror films, this one I can watch more than once. It has some great scenes and good graphics, perfect for any blu-ray collection.

8. Another action that I have to mention is Mr & Mrs Smith. It also is a bit older movie, but is action packed. Plus, yet again, it has Angelina Jolie. Can you tell I'm a fan?

9. For sci-fi, I think the best buy out there is Signs. It is highly suspenseful and is a movie I don't yet have in my collection. For the price, it is hard to pass up.

Well, that's it for now. I hope my picks help everyone out there find some great deals on blu-ray. I will keep my eye out to see if anything else pops up in the next few weeks.
