"Paris, Texas" is a movie of hypnotic beauty. It's a constantly changing search for meaning and understanding in a world where you don't belong, and at the same time a quiet rejection of modern American norms and the quest to solve past regrets.

There's some sweetness in the re-bonding of father and son. Both Stanton and Carson are great, instilling emotion in silent moments. The middle portion that concerns this is good. However, this is bookended by a needless start and an ending worth a long shrug. Would've been more forgivable if I had been more involved with the characters.

An incredibly poignant and beautiful film that draws its emotion from real human experience and drama. The film plays each scene so subtly, yet each scene is also nuanced and rich in character development.

One of the most emotionally powerful movies I've seen and it doesn't rely on melodrama. Great style, music and an overall masterpiece. I recommend it to everyone.
