Insanely tense. I could feel I was watching something with cinematic merit, but did it get my heart? No. Just tied my stomach in knots. And the ending hinges on a detail so minute I had to have it pointed out to me.

A good movie, but I felt really disappointed when I saw it. Does not deserve all of that hype.

An excellent piece of cinema. Well deserving of best picture. I'm not sure why so many people hate it.

When I saw this movie in the theater, I had no idea what I'd be getting myself into. Dealt with in a way unlike any other Coen Brothers movies, "No Country For Old Men" chronicles the seedy underworld of heroin and the troubles that occur in the aftermath. Javier Bardem deserved the incredible amount of praise that was earned (including an Oscar) in playing one of the scariest and most deliberately evil villains in film history.

It really just wasn't as good as the hype around it.

Ok, ok, ok. Awesome story line to this film. I loved what it was getting at, but... Oh God... The books probably awesome. I just HATED the film. I am probably the only person in the world that does... I know it won best picture and best director amoung other things, but the movie still SUCKED. What the hell was the ending all about????

Outstanding performance from Javier Bardem. Is it true he is the same person who played in Vicky Christina Barcelona? The movie move forward with the simple purpose....show me the money. But the end of story was too flat.

A very good and unique film, with no music and only twenty minutes of character dialogue throughout. But surprisingly, this does nothing to diminish the strong realistic nature of the film, with unexpected plot twists which are always good if they are done correctly. The Coen brothers fail to disappoint, this movie is really very riveting, one of my favorites.

Another in a long line of great Coen Brothers suspense films (Blood Simple, Fargo). When they set their minds to it, they are the closest thing to Hitchcock in this genre: deliberate direction, dark humor, and edge of your seat suspense. The last three scenes are each incredibly unsettling in their own ways. The other sign of a great movie? People either love it or hate it INTENSELY. There is no ambivalent, middle ground with this film! As always, I evaluated the film for tobacco use. There are only two scenes of smoking in the entire film, but the prominence of those scenes earned the film a SmokeScreeners rating of 3 Butts! http://tinyurl.com/lls7lq

Not like the other Coen movies but good just the same. Did anyone notice that there isn't any music during the movie? lol. Javier Bardem plays a great role in this one. He is freakin unstoppable! A great movie!
