As an adaptation of the real mutiny, it makes up for minor inaccuracies with scale and scope. As a 1930's seafaring yarn, however, I wish it were a bit more fun.

You get exactly what the title suggests. It does take a long while before the actual mutiny occurs. Personally, I would've abandoned ship long before that. The commanding officer is simply unbearable in his mistreatment and utter disdain for his own crew. When the event does go down, it is very much deserved. Despite being considered an unlawful act, it's a just decision in this particular case. Gable and Laughton command the movie with captivating performances. The entire crew is made up of memorable smaller roles, as well. The stint on the island may have added too much. It's a good watch.

A serviceable retelling of the classic novel, bolstered by commanding performances by Clark Gable and Charles Laughton.

A standard sea faring adventure that is okay but nothing really special stands out about it. None of the characters a very complicated and the story is not overly interesting. Though the performances are fine and it is entertaining enough just for its classic feel. Although I have never liked scenes with a storm and the boat scenes in any movie they always are very similar, and just seem to be a waste of time always.

Captain Bligh (Charles Laughton) was considered a mean-spirited captain, especially by Fletcher Christian (Clark Gable). Their war of power is documented in the Best Picture winning film, “Mutiny on the Bounty.” Clark Gable has one character he can play, and this movie proves he can’t do much else. The acting on the whole is nothing too exciting. It’s a very timeline-appropriate film, and definitely shows its age today. This is a very uninteresting film with little to nothing worth commenting on. I’d like to write more, but there’s just nothing interesting to mention. Acting: 7/10 Writing: 6/10 Video/Editing: 6/10 Audio/Music: 6/10 Entertainment: 5/10 Final Score: 6/10

I don't remember a whole lot from the first viewing of this movie, but the one thing I do remember was that it was much better than the over blown over acted "Master and Commander." If sea is your thing, then see this!
