"Match Point" is probably Woody Allen's best film of the past twenty years. Sure, he has had some flops and misfires, but they all still work. Allen, though a psycho in his personal life, is truly one of film's biggest imaginations and biggest talents. "Match Point" was very well-paced throughout, leaving room for vast amounts of built tension, which I found to be incredibly fed to the audience. Obsession and lust is like bacon and eggs

I feel really bad it all had to end that way, but who knew what's inside the head of Mr. Allen when he wrote the screenplay. Scarlet Johansson is amazingly beautiful and any man would do anything to have her. Specially a man obsessed shall be caught in between a crossroad of redemption and death. Jonathan Rhys Meyers was not as good but believable in his performance. There are moments were I can feel my pulse racing so you could say the movie worked for me. The whole setting was perfect for a bloody ending (spoiler). Everything else did not matter, even the fact that one could get a way with murder and live happily ever after. The only thing that matters to me is seeing Scarlet Johansson on screen. As I said any man would do anything to have her, I know I would.
