The Man Who Wasn't There is an introspective film noir from the Coen Brothers, understated in its delivery and performances. Some of the wacky characters still pop up, but the film is more of a morose meditation on life and death that slowly builds. The rich black and white cinematography and sparse score help the film create a unique impression.

I am disappointed with this movie. Look is good, has its moments but it just is not really good.

Richly photographed and beautifully written, 'The Man Who Wasn't There' could easily be one of the most underrated films of all time.
