It's a Sandler comedy- get over it!

Two straight best buddies, Chuck (Adam Sandler) and Larry (Kevin James) are best friends and they both work together on the same crew as firefighters. Larry who is single handedly raising his kids following the death of his beloved wife forgets to change the beneficiary of his fireman's insurance and now needs to get married to someone he trusts so that his insurance policies would be able to go to his kids.
After hearing about new rights for gay couples, he decides to ask Chuck to pretend to be his gay partner. Chuck, who is woman crazy, declines at first but then remembers he owes Chuck his life, so he ends up agreeing. Problems arise when the state sends investigators to check for fraudulent acts and what they think will be a quick and easy case of pretending they are gay turns …

Judging from the ratings and comments it seems as though a lot of people do not like this movie. They think its mildly funny and mainly offensive. I beg to differ. I think this was a good movie. Of course, there were some things that were a little over the top (i.e. a comment that was made that apparently everyone who is not gay is homophobic, and the incest[never acceptable]); however, I don't think anything was meant to offend anyone. The movie couldn't show everyone accepting gay marriage, because then where would the conflict be? He said some things in the beginning that were a little offensive towards gay people, he was playing a typical Brooklyn "tough-guy." Were they really supposed to sugar-coat how a typical BK skirt-chaser would act? He came around once the movie progressed. …

Chuck Levine (Adam Sandler) and Larry Valentine (Kevin James) were two straight men, but Larry had the bright idea to marry Chuck and get domestic partnership benefits. Now they must fool the world in “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.”
I learned a lot of things from this movie. I learned that everybody on Earth that isn’t gay is “homophobic.” I learned that incest is supposed to be sexy (first scene). I learned that it’s impossible for two straight men to be comfortable with a kiss. Okay, that last one is a little truer, unless you’re an actor, but even so, the movie is nothing but one stereotype after another.
What’s funny about the stereotypes is that the entire movie is trying to fight against stereotypes. I don’t understand how you’re supposed to make a …

When I first saw the trailers, I thought, "Great. Another Adam Sandler movie but this time, he makes fun of homosexuals! Gee, that's new." So, I initially did not want to see this film in the cinema because I did not want to waste ten bucks. But as movie reviews surfaced online, I read that some people felt that it was offensive. I wanted to know if it really was and what made it so offensive for some people so I decided to watch it with some friends. I found out that they were right: this film had offensive moments... but it also had occasional (or sporadic, as some may argue) funny moments and fun cameos that I (kind of) forgot about Sandler saying "Faggot!" in a really fucked up way (multiple times) and the way he (or his character) made fun of people on the heavy side.
