The satirical edge of "American Fiction" locks onto a multitude of areas from the publication world to the public consumer, nailing a direct hit almost every time. Each target gets struck by accurate observations on Black representation in media while the story's subsequently developing layers leave room for conversations on the subject and surprisingly moving family drama. Also Jeffrey Wright is in the best of form.
