While the film starts off a bit slow, stick with it as David Fincher crafts a slow burn revenge tale, solidly anchored by Michael Fassbender with plenty of action thrown in the mix. Methodical, cold and calculating - not just the director, but the film itself and it's time well spent.

With this deeper and more subtle revenge thriller of sorts, David Fincher makes a stellar return to the neo-noir. Like "Se7en" and "Zodiac" before it, "The Killer" is an often bleak yet electrifying thrill ride that doubles as a probe into the mind of the obsessed.
