"What do we have here? Deli meats?" Being as I was a robust dumpling growing up, this movie put a good feeling on my bullied soul during those years. I received it on VHS for Christmas and ended up popping the reel from so many uses. It may be safe to say this film formed a basis for what I like and don't like in a comedy. Being that Judd Apatow was co writer and it features Seth Rogen in a very early role, my transition to teen years with Freaks and Geeks and into my twenties with 40 Year Old virgin and other Apatow fare made the transition quite smooth. The movie is plain fun with a good message. This flick couldn't be made today, as Michelle Obama would condemn it for its "being fat is ok" communique. I'm not a fan of remakes but being that this will never be remade, they should.
