Powerfully acted drama that while it accurately portrays the confusion associated with dementia, the structure of the movie's plot is frustrating at times. Anthony Hopkins is very good but Olivia Colman imbues her performance with so much sorrow and heartache.

"The Father" takes a completely new approach to mental illness by literally showing us a movie about the subject through the eyes of the unwell.
