Avengers Reassemble in Lots of Flash, Less Bang

Let's face it, super hero films have never been "deep". Sure, you have glimpses of something that might approach emotion - but it's buried beneath action piece after action piece, witty banter and one-liners or attempts at being "dark and gritty". Emotional depth has never been the strong point of this genre. Now, to call Age of Ultron deep is stretching things a bit, but I do think that Joss Whedon has moved in a direction that at least makes me feel something for the characters - family, facing ones past (and limitations), growing, understanding - yes, there are still plenty of action scenes, but maybe, just maybe, there is something more.

Age of Ultron opens with the team back together - Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye have apparently been busy dismant...

Avengers 2: Darker, Bigger, Slightly Worse

I would like to preface this by saying I liked the movie. The problems I have with this movie are more subtle than anything. The accents on the twins are forced especially on Aaron. Taylor-Johnson's character. The creation of Ultron was also rushed but I understand why being that nobody was going to sit through an extra half hour of build up just to bring in the bad guy. If this is the last time we see Joss Whedon in the MCU then it was a good way to go out. He managed to not only wrap up previous things but also push it in another direction. The civil war and infinity war are going to be colossal and this does its job of getting us prepared for it, but also showing us that they aren't afraid to pull the plug on characters. Even if those characters may not seem significant. I'm not sure...

A great start to the summer movie season

Ultron: "There are no strings on me!".

The story to The Avengers: Age of Ultron is about Tony Stark jumpstarts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as they battle to save the planet from destruction at the hands of the villainous Ultron.

You had no idea how excited I was for Age of Ultron even after the chilling and dark looking teaser trailer we got back in October last year. The teaser trailer looked really dark and so dead serious and I know that's a thing with Marvel films today that they making they own films look dark and gritty but it's comedy, I have no idea why they do that but anywhere I was hooked. The vill...
