Boring and Pointless

This film is kind of a snoozer. It's built around an interesting premise, but doesn't know how to execute and a lot of the plot is wasted with meandering scenes that don't advance the characters or plot significantly. The characters themselves are wholly unlikable (for instance - there's a scene where three of the leads all sit around and do cocaine together, but this is never addressed or plays into the plot tremendously; it's just accepted as normal behavior.) The acting is amateurish, but I think that may be more on the directors' shoulders, since the cast has been good in other films. The whole film plays out like a soap opera-y drama, but without much dramatic tension and with characters we really don't invest in. It isn't bad enough to be cringe-worthy; it just is...
