Well, there's two hours of my life I'll never get back...Good god, they never stopped singing. It was maddening. Honestly, not everything needs to by sung, dialogue can get a point across just the same and it's usually a lot less irritating. That being said, some of the songs were pretty damn catchy so...I don't know. I still wouldn't watch it again.

okay this movie has a lot of singing it and I mean a lot.this has good acting and the actors who was sining can really sing.

I like musicals. But not this one. It is bad. The singing is off key, the story is slow, the acting is ok but overly dramatic, and Anne Hathaway is unbearable. I would skip this musical if you can. I don't quite see the popularity with this one. Skip it.

looks good. and has some truely great performances from most of the cast , but the singing throughout the whole film really let it down. unless you know the story its hard to work out whats being said when they are singing everything t mainly the same tune.. The best and most well known songs when they come are truely brilliant but its hard work watching throughout some of the film. they should of done a proper movie with just the key best songs as the musical part then it would of been truely fantastic. but singing throughout the whole movie is hard thing to watch and get through. performance wise 5 stars. movie wise its a generous 4

A grand musical that boasts almost non-stop singing. The production is huge and the performances are terrific. I found it to be quite an emotional experience. Even though the story is a downer, it does end on a sort-of uplifting note. Best experienced in the theater.

Excellent! Absolutely phenomenal! Actors did such a good job. Fantastic! Absolutely outstanding! I loved it so much! I almost didn't cry but finally broke down at the end. So heart-wrenching. Absolutely beautiful job

I thought this movie was going to have less grit than it did..., which is a good thing. I like movies with grit. Every actor played their role very well. The plot was excellent too. I haven't read the book, seen the play, or seen any of the other movies either. So this was a fresh look at it.
