Highly controversial in its time and still an undisputed example of shock cinema today. A Clockwork Orange is a unique cinematic experience employing unsettling and ultimately long remembered scenes of violence set in a dystopian society not too far away from our own. Dark, disturbing and visually arresting, this is vintage Kubrick. The director displays all his usual cynical and stylised touches and delivers a movie that is as abstract as it is shocking. Misunderstood, much maligned and sometimes, even held in utter contempt, a Clockwork Orange is nevertheless an important and worthy Sci Fi classic.

It makes you think really hard. However, you will notice the changes Alex has to go through. It focuses much on both character development and story. The best scene will have to be the ending hospital scene where Alex turns back into something he hated most throughout the film.

One of Kubrick's most remembered, controversial and widely accepted films. It's a strangely entertaining story that gives you a lot to take in. I found that curiosity compelled me to revisit it multiple times.

Stanly Kubrick was one of the most daring and outrageous directors of all time. He used violence and sex as a means to communicate Anthony Burgess' graphically sadistic novel. This is truly one of the greatest movies of all time, with Kubrick at his absolute best. Malcolm McDowell is amazing as Alex and this whole story is truly a masterwork of genius. Watch it and love it.

This movie sticks with you long after it is over and the taste is seldom pleasant. The futuristic governing body and horrible thugs are taken head on by Kubrick. Society will say anything to stay out of jail, cops are the criminals, and there is absolutely no cure for the wicked in this upside down and twisted critique.

I watched this recently with a friend after reading Anthony Burgess's novel. We were so disappointed with the film. I was astounded that the words 'A Clockwork Orange' were never even mentioned. Did viewers who had never read the book wonder, "Why is this movie entitled 'A Clockwork Orange'?" It seemed to me that the entire premise of the novel was based on the meaning of the title. The novel was written as social criticism. The movie does not duplicate this criticism largely because it does not explain the meaning behind the title. In defense of the movie, the greatness of the novel could never be translated to the silver screen. This said, I still feel as those there was much room for improvement.

Disturbing and horrific throughout but I was arrested by it... This movie is totally absorbing and somehow you want to watch it again despite wishing it's over while you watch it. I didn't really like what Kubrick did with Stephen King's The Shining but I don't think I'll feel the same about this movie after reading the book.

A modern horror story that's perfect in almost every way. Nobody has a flawless directing craft like Kubrick. Painful but true and one of the few brutal masterpieces, Kubrick isn't afraid to show what others are afraid to.
