The plot outline looked intriguing so I rented the movie. I fell asleep the first time after 15mins, only to be woken up by the music and credit scroll. I watched it again and just could not get into it after 35mins. Never made it to a very late inciting incident... or if there was suppose to be one in the first 35mins, I didn't get it. Very very very sloooow. I'm sure it was well acted and wonderfully done, but seriously... the first 1/3 of the movie was like being put in a 'time out'.

Dinosaurs, voice-overs, redheads, churchy music, volcanic activity... I think this film even has the kitchen sink. Perhaps Malick should have worked on it either a few more years or a few less years.
