this movie was sooo good, from the acting, to the story, it was just awesome. Christian Bale did such an amazing job as well as Melissa Leo, I think the awards and nominations are well deserved

Solid story, very good acting, funny characters- some silly/overdone/typical elements/parts, but involving- a bit slow- Christian Bale does GREAT acting

A brilliant "true story" of the harsh realities of family pressure, "The Fighter" told its central story (which was not really about boxing, but about loyalties) in the only way it could tell it: with the gritty unscathing look into the world of crack addiction and the tolls it can have on a close-knit family. Christian Bale gives a powerhouse supporting performance and Melissa Leo adds a sparkle of humanity to Mark Wahlberg's pointendly reserved portrayal of Mickey Ward. Amy Adams sends all previous performances to the cleaners with her enigmatic and fascinating ability to soar into leagues of fine theatrical-style acting. Brava!

The most accessible film to date by director David O. Russell. The cast here shines - from supporting players to lead roles. Christian Bale is believable and captivating. Mark Wahlberg gives a career performance; just like Natalie Portman in Black Swan, you believe that he is a boxer and the fight scenes are some of the most brutal and believable in any boxing film to date. Amy Adams and Melissa Leo pull at the film's emotional core. The film meanders a bit in the middle, but pulls itself together for a satisfying redemptive third act that concludes with a genuinely cheer-worthy climax. One of 2010's best.

This is a superb movie. I loved every part about it, particularly the one where Amy Adams' character says that Sugar Ray Leonard tripped.
