You can tell straight away it's a Zack Snyder movie, and I'm not saying that in a bad way. In terms of a family movie, it's more mature than I expected. Beautiful visuals with some stunning looking shots that any lover of cinematography will drool over. Also a set of color characters that added to the captivating experience. While I had my problems with Snyder in the past, but I still admire the man as a filmmaker and as a person.

I was not looking forward to watching this movie, but it turns out it was totally worth my time. The animation is just beautiful. The owls look realistic, the backgrounds look scary when they are supposed to and astonishing too. The characters were so loveable. My personal favorites were Soren and Mrs. P (the nanny snake). The battle was pretty cool too. I like how they left space for a sequel at the end. SPOILER: It was so sad how his brother, Kludd (this name comes from the chaplain of the KKK), turned evil. This movie is about intolerance and the idea of racial superiorty. This was shown through the bad guys who were like the KKK and Nazis. It also had a little bit about the costs of war. This shown through Soren's hero.
