Samuel L. Jackson is a racist, stern father who messes with his interracial suburban neighbors for almost no reason at all in this slick but obvious examination of guilt and racial trauma that ends too abruptly and illogically; Jackson is strong, but his underwritten character gets more and more ridiculous as the film progresses. Final Grade: C+

Action: 1.5/3 + Comedy: 0.5/2 + Good vs Evil: 0/1 + Love/Sex: 1/1 + Special Effects: 0/1 + Plot: 0/1 + Music: 0/1 = 3/10 or 30%. While Samuel L. Jackson displays a controlling, overly aggressive, manipulative, and bitter Police dad it is not clear as to whether he or his shallow, contrived neighbors are more dislikable. Everything you expect to happen will and there's no logic or understandable motivation towards the characters actions or constant bickering reagrding the hardships of mixed ethnic relationships and starting a family. The only bright spots come in the much under-used criminals Jackson has run ins with: the suicidal apartment dweller and the informant. There is nothing new or much to enjoy here overall.

When I seen the trailer I thought it looked good. I was expecting more action and drama in this film. I watched it for one of many reasons to see how Samuel L. Jackson was. He is a good actor but in this film I thought he did not do as well as he usually does. Over all if you want to go see a movie I would go see this one. It did have some action in it but like I said not a lot of action. Mostly the whole movie it was just what I call cruising. Some parts of this film I felt were boring. If I could rate this film. I would rate this film. It would be a 7 1/2.
