A faithful but bare-bones adaptation of the novel, John Huston brings Flannery O'Connor's outlandish characters to vivid life even when he fails to make the story as compelling, cohesive, and devilishly absurd.

I got a kick out of this John Huston movie. Much better than people give it credit for.
