Detective Scott Turner (Hanks) is a fastidious, compulsively clean bachelor. After a friend is murdered, Turner must take the only witness home -- the victim's dirty, destructive and drooling dog, Hooch. A heart warming film with a ugly dog but beautiful inside and tom hanks character is a talker but he cares inside as well.

Inoffensive Tom Hanks vehicle, but it's the pooch who's the star of the show.

They always say to never work with children or animals, but it seems like every actor must as some point in his/her career. Tom Hanks does his best in this slight, yet amusing comedy. Good, but not his best work by a mile.

Hanks, as always, is funny and lovable in this cute film. I've found that "dog people" like this show more than non-dog people. Hooch is pretty gross but makes for a very funny side-kick for Hanks. A nice, feel-good film but a little sad.
