Not a great movie, but I have to admit I laughed pretty hard several times. Sometimes it gets a little too silly but the movie will usually right itself and carry on to a satisfying ending. I have to say it's pretty awesome seeing Richard Jenkins in such a hilarious role. I may have laughed the hardest at the end when he screams "rock the f*** out of those drums Dale!"

This movie probably does not deserve the ranking that I gave it. It is not a good movie, but it was so stupid and silly that I enjoyed it. I thought that their were some really funny parts and hours and even days later I was still talking about them and laughing. This movie is typical Will Ferrell. What you've seen in the past from him is what you are going to get in this movie.

Too vulgar without a doubt. It went a place this movie didn't need to go. There were a bunch of places I laughed, but it doesn't make up for the fact it was a terrible movie. The sleep walking was incredibly stupid, as well as the end of the movie. Really all this movie needed was the two of them to fight the whole time....but of course they become friends. bad bad bad. 1.5 / 4

Yeah, it's a one-joke movie. And you've probably seen a lot of the funny parts in the trailers. But you know what? There are still a LOT of funny parts that you didn't see. More importantly, the familiar parts are SO funny that you don't mind seeing them again. I mean, the thought of two grown men acting like children -- and the adults around them allowing their behavior -- is simply ridiculous. But Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are hilarious doing it. It sounds crazy, but I think only skilled actors could have pulled it off. The story is barely enough to support the nonsense, but it clearly avoids even an ounce of sentimentality. That's the perfect formula for this wonderful surprise of a movie.

Incredibly stupid and cringe inducingly lame at many points. Some laughs here and there, but mostly just Ferrell doing his usual man child routine, minus the wackiness or charm of stuff like Anchorman. Consider me officially tired of his shtick.

This movie was one of the funniest I have seen in a long time. Ferrell and Reilly are up on their game, and its obvious that they had a damn good time making this movie. Before seeing it I remember seeing some behind the scenes stuff on the film and each of the cast members were talking about how they were practically given free reign over their characters. They were given the chance to improve so many different versions of each scene just so they could get the the best / funniest variant of each take. From what I know they not only were allowed to throw in various improv lines but they also added to each others lines by coaxing each other into trying something different. The movie was nothing short of hilarious.

Although I thought it looked a bit stupid, I wanted to see this movie being a big fan of Will Ferrel and John C Reilly. I actually enjoyed the movie, it's obviously quite goofy and full of a lot of jokes you would expect. Most of the clips in the theatrical trailer were deleted outtakes so it did not spoil the movie, I actually wish a lot more movies did this. I hate it when a trailer ruins all the best scenes in the movie. If you have enough money to see one movie I would definitely pick "Pineapple Express" over this movie, but it's qutie funny through the first 60% of the movie or so. It gets rather boring towards the end, but most comedies of this type have a similar problem.

Meh, it seems like the last GOOD movie Ferrell and Mckay did was Anchorman: Legend Of Ron Burgundy. And after seeing Talladega Nights, I was so far correct. So when Step Brothers arrived, I knew it would flop as well, and yes, I'm correct. The movies plot and structure didn't really have a base but funny oneliners, and silly characters. Though stupid but funny, not very forgivable. it bombed in my opinion, Sure It was better than Talladega Nights, but that's beside the point. This movie alone is just sub-par. FINAL SCORE :::: 41% ::::

A damn funny movie that is full of great one liners. It does try too hard at times to be too funny but it still works really well. McKay is not as deep as Apatow but I would say they are the two best in the biz. Get a laugh and see it.

Nonsensical idiocy in the the form of two 'man-child' characters. Usually this kind of thing is annoying, but Ferrel and Reilly's on-screen camaraderie and brand of dumb comedy works as well as it did in Talladega Nights. This is much more crass and stupid than that film was. I only prefer Step Brothers more for the surplus amount of 'R'-rated one-liners. It all somehow works.
