Shrek the Third

Shrek the Third is a huge disappointment in just about every way. Yes, The film is cleaver, but so what? It also has no story. The comedy is few and far between as well with the only laughs in the film being delivered by the supporting characters (The Gingerbread Man, Pinocchio and The Three Blind Mice and Donkey). The Main Characters (Shrek, Puss in Boots and especially Fiona are under-used). The newest character Artie (a take off of King Arthur), voiced by singer Justin Timberlake is a huge letdown, the character is no fun, dull and gets annoying fast with all of his constant complaining. This film seems to forget what made the first film great and the second film good, Laughs and Heart. The SHREK franchise is officially warn out, but unfortunately i don't see these films ending anywher...

Too Aimed for Kids

The weakest of the first three "Shrek"s. The jokes are not as clever, the story not as poignant, and the tone of it is way too light to be taken seriously during its dramatic moments. Still, the animation is great even though it could not carry the entire film. I feel like they rushed this third installment, which resulted to a very thin tale about a ogre on the verge of fatherhood. Some of the elements felt recycled like Prince Charming. I wish they'd introduced another more sinister villain. If they do have a forth installment, I want it to feel, not only darker than the rest but also, more things are at stake so the audience will care more and identify with the characters' fear and joy. This movie had funny moments but they were more chuckle-moments than laugh-out-loud moments. Overall...

Not as good as Shrek 1&2 from a story perspective

I chose not to watch this on in the theaters because I had a number of friends that had seen it there and they told me that it wasn't worth seeing on the big screen. Being that I have been a big fan of the Shrek series ever since it began I really was looking forward to seeing this one. Unfortunately it would seem that the execs a Dreamworks decided that they needed a hit to compete with Spiderman 3 and decided to push it out just for the sake of competition. While the previous Shrek movies took not only years to produce but they went through extensive research and market tests, this one was pushed out based upon the previous figures and the end results left some bitter tastes in the mouths of those that saw it. I believe the biggest problems began with the script. Had the script writers ...
