If you like it bad, this snake will make you moan

This movie's knows just how bad it is -- and it couldn't get worse. There's something respectable about that. Something noble.

Viewers who take this film at face value will miss what it's all about. I read this movie as a statement about every bad genre-specific, situational movie you've ever seen. In this respect, it's more subtle than spoof films like Scary Movie or Loaded Weapon: it's satire.

Every year Hollywood feds us ridiculous scenarios that are supposed to "take us for a ride" or "thrill" us. A giant meteor is coming. The sharks with brain implants are going to eat us. I'm stuck on a bus that could explode at any moment, but some super cop is here to save me.

Think about it. The situation in each is just as stupid as "Snakes on a Plane," but at least SoP knows it.
