Too long

I wasn't really expecting much of this movie and so I wasn't surprised that I didn't really enjoy it. The performances were reasonable, especially from the ever watchable Eric Bana. I think the main problem was that it was too long. To drag a film out for about 2 1/2 hours when most people know the story is a bit of an ask, I often found myself losing interest in the (ridiculous amount) of characters. Wolfgang Peterson can always be depended on for spectacle and he totally delivers but it isn't enough to keep it going.

Overall, the battle scenes are well-worth a looksee but I suggest renting it so you can fast-forward the strained dialogue and overlong parts.
