This sequel should have stayed buried.

The first two Mummy movies were far from action masterpieces, but when you compare them to this crappy film, they seem like Oscar contenders. The movie lacks the central chemistry that made the first two films fun and charming and without the director Stephen Sommers or Rachel Weisz playing Evie, what the point of making another movie? Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh are completely wasted in their roles. The action sequences are warmed over leftovers from The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Luke Ford was a bad choice to pick for the 21-year-old son, Alex. I found him quite annoying to watch. I think the worst mistake of all they made was recasting the leading female. If for some reason the actress/actor who carried the role in the first two movies can't or won't come back for a third....GET RID OF THAT CHARACTER!!! Death, divorce or whatever and introduce a new one or something. Brendan Fraser, meanwhile phones in a performance so awful that it's hard to believe his character was likable in the first two films.
