Great movie, relaesed at the wrong time.

In a year that saw two excellent cinematic ghost stories, "The Blair Witch Project" and "The Sixth Sense", the release of "Stir of Echoes" in that early autumn could not have been more poorly timed. It's a shame, since "Stir of Echoes" is a very effective, well-crafted and well-acted movie.

While most people compare this movie to "The Sixth Sense", this movie is a lot different and a lot better in most ways, particularly that this film doesn't have a twist ending like "The Sixth Sense" did which I'm glad it didn't. The story is rather original and is nicely constructed, and some really believable characters as well.
