Matchstick Men

Ridley Scott does a cute, flashy but fun crime caper. And it works beautifully. Nicholas Cage in a pre Ghost Rider performance which reminds us of what the guy is capable of, and he's is ably supported by Sam Rockwell. But playing Cage's daughter is Alison Lohman, a star in the making. She hits all the right notes and plays a difficult role, which somehow, she pulls off.

Hugely enjoyable, maybe not quite a classic, but close enough.
