The Amityville Horror

The film has the potential to be very creepy, and they get most things right, except for the plot. The music, the effects, the look, are all unnerving but the story and the characters are so uninteresting that before the film is halfway through, it starts to plod along very slowly. Amityville II: The Possession actually works a lot better.
