Nothing to it.
1.5/4 stars

A very poor biopic that is bad in many ways. This goes in the faction of not really getting to know the figure and it more of shows an outline of his life. You never really learn who he is, but he sure likes to be peaceful that is all you here from him over and over again. Everything happens rather suddenly characters die off off screen without telling you. This does not give you anything not an interesting insight into his mine nor a fascinating historical tale. You get nothing out of Gandhi whatsoever. Even Kingsley's performance gets in a real rut as soon as he becomes bald.

Oscar Win Best Actor Ben Kingsley 4/5- Kingsley is very very good in the early scenes of the film as the young Gandhi. He gives a great and interesting character portrait that is until he becomes bald. He then mostly just does an imitation and does not really need to do much more than that, I thought it was rather disappointing that the character was portrayed as becoming perfect, and that transition was not fully earned.
