Overly dramatic

Plot 3/10- It has a whole lot of people acting very dramatic throughout, and I really think people overate it when they say it is both poetic and realistic. The dialogue is not realistic by any means. Everything is just over done.

Look 5/10- Nothing special about the way it is shot. Everything looks actually unnatural.

sound 5/10- Music is predictable and as Dramatic as the rest of it.

acting 8/10- Vivian Leigh- Really over dose it with all the drama over and over again. She really is almost one note. Marlon Brando and Karl Malden are much better by having more emotions in their characters with subtlety.

recommend- No not really. If you want to see good acting from Marlon Brando I suppose but it just a story with not much to it but chucked full of overly dramatic lines.

Oscar nomination Best Actor Marlon Brando 5/5- Brando plays the jerk in this movie perfectly. He hits all of the right notes for the character and can seem tough, pathetic, and all sorts of other all at the same time. He is extremely good in this.

Oscar Win Best Supporting Actor Karl Malden 5/5- I think he is actually better than Brando in this. He does a perfect job as playing Mitch on the surface as a pathetic guy who attempts at his best but hidden notions shown threw his well done small facial gestures and eye movements are just perfect.
