Plot: Thirty years after the end of the Civil War, people living in the American South react with fearful superstition to the arrival of a shoeless man (Daniel Kruse). Refusing to assist the confused stranger because of a legend attaching a visit from Death to aiding a barefoot person, the townsfolk grow more desperate when it appears a Biblical apocalypse may be imminent.
